There are different ways of understanding ones place on this blue marble.

Telling stories. I'm thinking of stories in the widest sense of the word. Where there are records of human activity, there are records of storytelling.

There's something deeply disturbing about marching towards death. I will never get used to it and feel weird about the relaxed position of other people. For the longest time, I thought everything you do publicly should be deliberate and great, as every day is extremely final and the archive is forever. I'm not sure about that anymore.

There's no way out of oneself. Somehow one should get to terms with that. One, as if the specific is general. I think they had generals in the Prussian empire. They had.

I know very little of the Prussian empire.
